All praise is due to Allah, we praise Him, we seek His assistance, we seek His forgiveness and we repent to Him.

We seek refuge in Allah from the evils of our souls and from the evil consequences of our deeds.

Whomsoever Allah guides there is none to misguide him and whomsoever He causes to go astray there is no guide for him.

I bear witness there is none worthy of worship except Allah alone without any partners, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger.

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ وَلا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ

{O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and die not except as Muslims} [3:102]

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا رَبَّكُمُ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ مِنْ نَفْسٍ وَاحِدَةٍ وَخَلَقَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا وَبَثَّ مِنْهُمَا رِجَالاً كَثِيراً وَنِسَاءً وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ الَّذِي تَسَاءَلُونَ بِهِ وَالْأَرْحَامَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَلَيْكُمْ رَقِيباً

{O mankind, fear your Lord Who created you from a single person and from him He created his wife and from them both He created many men and women. Fear Allah from Whom you demand your mutual rights and beware of severing ties of kinship: Allah is always watching over you} [4:1]

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَقُولُوا قَوْلاً سَدِيداً، يُصْلِحْ لَكُمْ أَعْمَالَكُمْ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَمَنْ يُطِعِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَقَدْ فَازَ فَوْزاً عَظِيماً

{O you who have believed, fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice. He will then amend for you your deeds and forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly attained a great triumph} [33: 70-1]

The best of speech is the Book of Allah and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (praise and security of Allah be upon him), and the most evil of matters are newly invented matters, and every newly invented matter is an innovation, and every innovation is misguidance and every misguidance is in the Fire.

In light of the above:

My name is Salal Ahmed Haque (Abū Ḥayyān al-Atharī). I was first introduced to al-Daʿwah al-Salafiyyah in the mid-90s. I studied creedal works and the Arabic language under Ustādh Muzakkir حفظه الله who studied in Dammāj during the days of Imām Muqbil رحمه الله. What I love about Ustādh Muzakkir is his humbleness and constant enthusiasm for learning and teaching – may Allāh reward him heavily for his efforts and protect him from every harm.

Academically I have a First-Class BA degree in Arabic and Linguistics from the University of Westminster (2008). I also hold an MA in Islamic Studies from SOAS (2010) for which I was awarded a distinction. All praise is due to Allāh.

The contemporary scholars who have influenced me the most include: the Imāms Muḥammad Nāṣir al-Dīn al-Albānī, ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. Bāz, Muḥammad b. Ṣāliḥ al-ʿUthaymīn, Muqbil b. Hādī al-Wādiʿī, Rabīʿ b. Hādī al-Madkhalī, Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān – may Allāh have mercy upon them all, and may He preserve Sh. Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān.

In terms of western academia, Sh. Muḥammad Muṣṭafá al-Aʿẓamī’s works have influenced me the most – may Allāh have mercy upon him.

This website is my attempt to contribute towards the Dīn of Allāh.

I ask Allāh the Almighty and Majestic to cause us to live and die upon the Sunnah, and I pray that He accepts this small effort on my part, and that it weighs heavily on my scale of good deeds on the Day of Judgement.
